I wonder if Dubya would consider appointing Ralph Nader as Secretary of Interior. <g>

Why would Gore want a presidency
He may not want it anymore, but it's still important that the presidency goes to the person with the most votes and not to the person with the most money. These are dangerous times, not for us, but for our grandchildren.

Clinton didn't really have the good first impression either (and during his presidency as well), but he got two terms out of it.

By March next year, no one will mention about this fiasco anymore.

Norman, I think you need to think deeper than that. Gore asked for a hand recount in four counties and has not yet gotten it. Don't you think it was a bit unfair for Republican participants in the recount to place clearly marked Gore ballots in the questionable stack? Was this a delaying tactic? And this is but one example of many which have served to delay and block the recount process.

Let's put this in cowboy terms: Bush is gun-shy about a recount! He doesn't want it to happen and he's afraid that if it does, he and his fellow GOPwingers will lose the election.

Let's put this in cowboy terms: Bush is gun-shy about a Florida-law sanctioned recount! He doesn't want it to happen, he's afraid that if it does, he and his fellow GOPwingers will lose the election. And, unquestionably, he's used the complete powers of his state co-chair, Ambassador-elect Katherine Harris' secretary of state position in order to block the efforts and acceptance of the recount.

How do you think Harris would feel if she, on voting Tuesday, lost by 327 votes out of six million cast, requested 72 hours later within Florida law, on Friday, a hand recount in four counties that used antiquated voting machines historically producing five percent error rates, and was told that the four counties totalling approximately 1.5 to 1.7 million voters had to have all hand recount results in by Tuesday, four days after the original request? You know what? Add into this the severe and excruciating delay and impeding tactics by lawyers and paid demonstrators doing everything possible to block the hand recount. You know what? She wouldn't like it. And neither would you, were you a candidate.

I don't think the courts will like it either, and the courts, as is their duty, will rectify this grave injustice.
