OMD,

I use Nighthawk....older and more sensitive than todays models.

Caution: HVAC personnel are trained to accept small amounts of CO in the furnace area. This is wrong. It assumes that it does not accumulate. CO had a half life of nearly 4 hours. The accumulation of this over a night time is often lethal, yet when checked the next day at the furnace is deemed acceptable. This is like saying that a little rat poison is ok.

Even OSHA accepts levels in work areas. They also assume to cumulative affect on human tissue. This is not safe.

Like you say, CO is odorless, colorless and tasteless....and I is one other thing.....it goes to the brain and one of the basic manifestations is APATHY SYNDROME....a psychological disturbance that basically allows you to remain in the toxic home simply because you no longer think properly and will assume all is well even though you feel like you are near death.

This is the gas from Hell.
