I was exaggerating somewhat to make a point, DMA, but I guess it is not so much Bush's faith as some of the rhetoric from the ultra right wing over the last few years that could get folded in with the republican party.

I guess it is my (perhaps ignorant) view that being "born again" is a more radical (or hardcore, if you will) belief that simply being a Christian. In truth I know little about the nuances of faiths, hence my apprehension, which was my point.

Personally, I think that Bush is likely born again out of necessity. He knew that his first go round put his credibility in the crapper and this gives him a chance to wipe the slate clean and clean himself up. But that is just my opinion...

If he needed to believe in something to pick himself up out of the rut he was in... more power to him. Who knows, maybe he is right.
