Vol - IMHO thats the best way to start it...this is just the beginning. UNLESS Mr G reduces interest rates. There isn't anything clever its the old saying "Don't Fight the Fed".

Mr G has set interest rates at an unnecessarily high rate in order to induce the very thing we are living through. until he stops it the NAZ will tank. My view is that he doesn't believe in day traders or making big money out of the stock exchange, well at least not for little guys, and he is determined to teach us all big lesson that we will NEVER forget.

THat is my analysis as all the commentary today is about investors having "questions" about growth and the economy and that the economy is slowing and fast.

Now it clearly is slowing very very fast and the reast of the world is going to fall much harder and quickly at that and then the cycle of warnings will start up again and in only a few weeks time, maybe two to three weeks till they start rolling in. And more bad news on the economy.

The result of all this is that the NAZ, the easiest up is the easiest down, surely can't survive at over the level it was in late 98? It has to srop 30% - 40% below that i.e. 30%-40% below 2,000 i.e 1,200 to 1,400. Thats what he wants. It is a lesson NONE of us will ever forget. Then he will ease up.

Best regards,

L

Volt,

We may be setting ourselves up for a washout/capitulation day. Schwab has another "urgent notification" on its website notifying us of another increase in margin maintenance requirements on stocks that it considers "volatile", some as high as 80% maintenance. If other brokers follow suit (as they did in April), we may have a final capitulation (as in April). Wouldn't be too bad if you ask me.

Oh you are quite wonderful.
You may be wrong and we are in the middle of the worst bear in history but I still enjoy all the positive posts.
