tom.......agree.....a recession is as damaging to the fed as well as business world....fed member banks don't flourish in recessions......they need good times and reasonable rates to grow earnings.....fed perversely attempts to balance the economy, but they typically fail...if they realize a downturn is happening they will reduce fed funds and increase money supply.....probability in the next sixty days......global economies depend on healthy us economy, asia is slowing...europe is slow....fed bolstered global economy with cuts in 97-98
