I guess most of them have given away something for a future position or to help friends. OXY & Gore...... I don't think it justtifies the action, & hope the son is better than the father.

Barrick acquired Goldstrike under terms of the 1872 Mining Act.
It was not given away, but tranferred under the rules stated in the law.
Many other firms have acquired property under this law, but it is more fun to bash those nasty Canadians ;)
