First, I don't know that your claim is fact. Harris county, TX, for example, is one example of a county that uses archaic systems. I don't know whether there is wide spread election fraud in TX or not. Your post suggests there is, but I'd like to see some better proof than a claim of fact. We could also get into the field of independent verification of the tabulation software and controls from verification to deployment but that's probably a little arcane for this thread.

If everyone has to show up with valid ID to vote won't that take away from the core Democratic constituency?<g>

Oh, I've been voting in MD, a heavy Democratic area for nearly 30 years and never seen a punched card ballot and have always dutifully produced my ID [and brought registration card]. Plus, I don't particularly care about the divining of which constituency may or may not be affected. It's a waste of energy. It's the validity of the vote that matters.
