TM, Again, don't shoot until you see their bloodshot eyes! I'm really trying hard to NOT make any conclusions on this Market. Clearly, there are ashes everywhere, but it is from the ashes that the Phoenix rises again. The 77 Big Boyz represent more than 50% of all the equity in this country. The high water mark was 9/1. Looking at EPS, the first 6 months of EPS was up 27% year over year. Nonetheless, I failed to note at that time that the ANALyst projections of 2000 year estimates compared to 1999 actual EPS of a 42% increase would prove to be an impossible task. Thus, the numbers were forced to come down, and come down they have. That said, if the numbers for the 4th quarter come in anywhere close to plan, the Big Boyz will have had a 30+% increase in EPS for 2000 compared to 1999. Not Bad! At this point, the projected increase of 19% in 2001 EPS growth looks attainable. Contrary to the skeptics that would like to preach that the sky is falling, I believe the Big Boyz' stocks to be undervalued in total. The problem is going to be for companies to create earnings visibility in this new environment, and some ANALysts are probably going to exert some effort. But, as we know, this is all FA stuff and the TA looks horrible. TB
