ADC shares rise 5 percent after results

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - ADC Technologies recovered from regular-session losses during Tuesday's after-hours session after the company beat Wall Street's quarterly earnings estimates.
Also, ChipPAC shares were halted after the company previewed fourth-quarter earnings figures.

ADC (ADCT: news, msgs) shares rose 97 cents to $18.50 on Island ECN after closing down $1.28 to $17.53.

ADC reported fourth-quarter net income of $138 million, or 18 cents a share, compared with $71 million, or 10 cents a share, during the same quarter last year.

Analysts surveyed by First Call expected earnings of 17 cents a share, on average.

Revenue was $1 billion compared with $634.1 million during the same quarter last year.

Also, ADC expects 2001 earnings in the range of 68 cents to 70 cents a share, inline with expectations, on sales of about $4.15 billion to $4.3 billion
