You think any analyst worth his salt would be going against the Conventional wisdom at this point rather than piling on. If the bullish scenario turns out right, the analysts that go that way will be heroes down the road. What a gutless bunch. Even bears probably would agree that upside potential is higher than the downside. They would just argue about the timing and whether they could squeeze another 500 nasdaq points out of this debacle.
Again I ask, am i missing something. Is there a severe recession on the horizon? Is amat, after a 67% drop, going to go lower if growth slows a bit for a bit? Will Gspan sit idly by like nero and not fight a possible recession because of a paranoid fear of a bit of inflation. Will Congress stand idly by and not give tax relief to fight recession because of the new gospel of balancing the budget? Will Gore continue suing until he is declared the winner 2 years down the road? He might you know. My son who voted for him now calls him the devil.
