It would be intellectually dishonest to say Clinton did nothing to affect the economy for the last 8 years. He took heat from the Libs in his party for fighting his own inclinations and their own tax and spend proclivities to try to work with G-span. I give him that. He gleefully cut military spending and had welfare reform shoved down his throat to ratchet down the employment #'s. (He works both sides of that issue.)
In my opinion, the demise of the Soviet Union as a global, hostile power did more to allow budget reduction and open new markets to trade.
But your guy Gore the Business Killer, that's what you oughta be shuddering about. We need a BIG FAT recession and an out flow of manufacturing jobs to get the Unions back in line. IMO it will happen under Gore, made more likely if Dems get control back in the House and Senate in 02'.
