...with the only news I can find that PC sales might not be as good...

You've got to be a little more vigorous in your scanning of stories, Charles. You clearly missed the Robert Downey, Jr. bust. I'm convinced that the election buzz, which never really played all that big a role in the market plunge, has completely died down. People have stopped paying attention to Al Gore and started paying attention to Robert Downey, Jr. Both are great patriots who haven't received a fair shake. At least that's what they said on CNBC.

Here's your news from Briefing.com.

Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 81 1/4 -6 15/16: Sun spiked 3 pts and then gave it back just as fast as traders played a Goldman Sachs' call on the stock; Goldman was generally bullish, but noted that the US would no longer be the primary driver going forward, and that Europe and Asia will pick up the slack. The call did not appear to be very negative, but it looked like there was a spike up in anticipation of a solidly bullish call, and the negative US remark brought the stock back down... Of course, general sector conditions didn't help.
