>>>I am not long oil. In fact, I'm on my wife's case to dump her Landcruiser because it's a guzzler. I am installing alternative energy systems on our new house. I didn't vote Bush or Gore.<<<

Bravo on all counts!

Recommend rollerblades for the wife--LOL! Although I predicted oil would rise on Bush's candidacy, I too didn't go long on it.

>>>However, Gore is claiming that hand counts are mandatory. They are not. He was given leeway by Democratic canvassing boards after he threatened legal action against Dade.<<<

I believe what Gore's team is claiming is that once the canvassing board agreed to do the recount based on his legal request they do so, the board must complete that count or at least demonstrate a good faith effort to comply. I suspect Gore's statement is likely based on advice from his legal team.

>>>He's still not happy. He is selfish and crooked. He's gotten away with bending the law for so long that he believes in his mind that he is justified in doing so in this instance.<<<

This is precisely why we only had two-party debates. I note with great interest that Jesse Ventura was in single digits when he fought for inclusion in his Minnesotian statewide debate. Look what happened.

>>>Yes, Bush is in many instances no better. However, in this instance Bush is more right than Gore, FWIW.<<<

Here's where we separate. In my view, Gore is the lesser of two evils and represents the lesser degree of danger for people and other living things.
