suppose u played volleyball and it was agreed the game was to 15, but you had to win by at least 2 points. suppose you won 15 to 12 and the other side said let's play to 21. suppose u weren't a generous sort or a sporting man. what would happen? suppose, it were ping pong?
suppose you played to 21 and won 21 to 19. suppose they said well, we are up 9 to 6 as you won the first gam 15 to 12 and the first game is only practice. and because we're thirsty we'll play this game to 11. if u protested, they'd say u r ridiculous. after all , both sides still have a chance to win. suppose u played for two dollars. and if you won, they daid we're friends, the game is fun, don't be a jerk and try to collect. besides, no one meant it. suppose they said, ok since u r so mercenary, suppose we settle for half- $1. suppose, they then gave u 100 pennies, one a month. suppose the pennies were put in a muddy puddle. suppose the money only came out of their realized gains on dot.com stocks bought after labor day 2000. suppose your brother or his supporter said this wasn't fair and they said he was partisan.

I watched Gore speak this afternoon for the first time. I was curious about what he was going to say so soon after last night. I started out listening to him but I got distracted by his mannerisms which seemed familiar. After a few seconds it hit me...Ronald Reagan.

The tossing of the head, the chuckles injected in strategic parts of the speech. I kid you not. He does a better Reagan than Phil Hartman used to do on "Saturday Night Live".

I have no doubt he uses tapes of Ronald Reagan as his speech training films. Maybe others have noticed. Maybe this old news, but I found it to be hilarious.
