"Don't you think he will keep the subject in the media until he's president?"

Al Gore will keep opening his mouth until all possibilities have been exhausted...and even after that he may run it a while longer. I do not claim to be an expert on this matter, but to me it seems unlikely he can become president because:

Bush is the certified winner in Fl. Al is trying to get the FL court to order more manual recounting in Democratic areas. Several hurdles for Gore:
1) The court may not be sympathetic to his case and may not order a recount.
2) Even if the court does order more recounting, there may not be enough time before the electoral college meets.
3) Bush has stated that IF more recounts are ordered, he wants several Republican areas recounted, and that will take even more time, if granted. There wont be enough time before the electoral college meets.
3) The US Supreme Court may take Bush's view that the FL Courts have overstepped their authority and order the recounting stopped.
4) Even if the Gore gets through the above, Bush may hold the best trump card which is the FL Legislature. The Republican controlled legislature may not like the way the FL courts have twisted their laws, and as a result may choose to appoint the elector college electors themselves. They have the legal authority to do this and are convening a special session so they are available, if needed.

The likelihood of Gore getting through all these minefields is low. Is he made of the same grade of teflon as Bill Clinton? Time will tell.
