You got that right. He is not trying to win Florida rather to get it thrown out. He is ahead without Florida and also leads in the popular vote. So if Florida is thrown out he has a chance. That's the strategy IMO.

<<Gore said today that polls don't matter>>

This is putting even hardest of the Democrats to sleepless nights, they need to face America in as short as two years. In politics years are nothing, it is the 'man of the hour' it is the man who puts himself and his priorities below the needs of the nation that matters. That is what it only counts rest eveything else is share baloney. Blood, tears and sweat speaches are once in life time opportunity 'to hold the morale of nations' these special man, those who do just that, live others just wither out.

That is the thin line that seperates 'mediocricity' from 'genius'. From 'Chamberlain appeasement' to 'uncommon valor of Churchill'. Gore or Bush are not made of the same material or can even claim that is the class of 'Churchill' however it is 'need of the hour' that creates a 'man of the hour'. Many a mediocrates have in rush of ardeline at the 'need of the hour' have become living legends, remeber that small chines guy who stood in front of the moving tanks in Red Square in China when the student movement was ruthlessly crushed, that man lives as a symbol of democracy, many a greater figures have wither out since, Mandela will live his tormentors like 'Bootha' are a dirty footnote of history. He stood out at the call of the hour that is what this whole game is all about. He preferred 'pluralistic society in SA when he came to power forgetting the 30 years of oppression, todays a nation and the world stands indebted to him.

Today I think Mr. Gore faces a similar situation, he can keep quarreling or 'concede' if he concedes a mediocrate has a chance to live in US history as a legend, a nation will never forget that little favor, to unite a divided nation, to heal the wound of the rich and poor, to see that geographical divide may be cured and to bring the polarisation and heat to normal levels. If he fails he will crushed by the mounting evidence of putting self pormotion before the need of the nation. Every passing moment is a increasing liability for Gore.. that is what I think and that is what Americans are thinking today.. Alas, Daley's and other kinds does not have that vision..
