Hi Ron,
AIM's more for managing long term positions. My Speculation indicator hasn't given us a bullish signal since late '98, just before the nice 1999 rally.

With the shellacking the NASDAQ has taken in the last two weeks, this indicator might give us a bullish signal soon. The data is derived from Value Line's Best and Worst Performers lists (page 33 of their Index section). If the best and worst performers were in perfect balance, we'd see a reading of zero. I consider the indicator neutral between zero and ten. Above 10 is speculative fever and is bearish while below zero is bullish and means everyone's in a "hate" mood.
