Democrats do not attack anyone's values. In fact, they will fight for your right to express them irregardless of what they are. If gov't starts to legislate values, then it sets up a precedence that turn on itself. The right to legislate values now may turn into someone else's right to legislate their values later on. Their values may be different and will take away your right to express your values. Therefore, individual freedom of choice protects the rights of everyone.
