Should we start a pool about projected Amazon earnings for this quarter?

<<That is why regional dealers tend to start their ads with "hello, I'm the president of your local Springfield Ford dealer"....>>

or maybe regional dealers actually know many of the people their ads will reach. I've known a few ad execs, and let me tell you- their egos are bigger than the Titanic! i try to avoid spending time with them because they talk endlessly about themselves.

Now, go to amazon.com and look at the logo of Amazon. The logo is amazon with a smile under it... Yeap, the famous Jef Bezos smile...

The smile will be gone by this summer. Amazon is rapidly buring through cash and it is more difficult to raise additional funds.

One of the strangest parts of Amazon's numbers is the fact each quarter they announce books, music and video are more profitable. Yet sales are declining in these business.

It was a long five years for them but I really believe there will be no Christmas season for Amazon in 2001.
