I'm watching the proceedings in Judge Sauls court in Tallahassee. The Democrats are damned. They are being checked, in the chess sense, by the conservative "Judicial Watch" in Palm Beach County who are playing a "public recount" game with a verbal order by P.B.C. Judge LaBarga. Delaying the tranfer of the disputed ballots to Tallahassee.

The proceedings change from moment to moment, but now GOP counsel is saying that 'undercount' ballots can't be recounted without recounting the entire state. You gotta love these guys. After they tell Gore to go stuff it when he suggested this two weeks ago, now they want it. Two faced hypocrites.

Boies indicates that the decision to start the recount on Saturday is tantamount to a denial of justice. Sauls disagrees. Says he can't interefere with the U.S. Supreme Court.

Sauls is playing good game, denying the most obstructionist and obnoxious of the GOPs whinings, but in the meantime nearly totally frustrating Boies by delaying the count. A very clever denial of what the Dems need in order to prevail in a court "master" recount.

This thing is over, as far as I can tell, all except for the shouting. I'm beginning to see the fat lady coming on the stage now.

Last hope for the Dems is the Seminole wildcard. It could be a zinger.

This is delicious to watch. It is really just a vulgarity dressed up in pompous language. I can't help but admire the total disingenuousness of the situation. No wonder Americans have such total disrespect for the legal system and lawyers.

Best, Ray
