I disagree. If experience (1990) is any indicator, the Fed response will be too little, too late.

Greenspan may be willing to take extra short-term pain if he believes he's adverting a long-term catastrophe. Check out this mythical chat with Greenspan by Cramer. Although mythical, there are some valid things it in to think about...
