That's a gem in itself. From SMP "running in the lab" to shipping in an incredibly quick two years. No server competition, even 2-way, from AMD until well into 2002.

It had already been fixed at the time of that posting. Early steppings of the 760 chipset required a fairly large heatsink, current versions do not. Early versions that weren't equipped with a heatsink could overheat.

Unlike P4's bios problem, this was caught before systems were shipped.
