I get a laugh out of people who think the President of the US is the most powerful man on the planet. The US Fed chief can trump anybody. From page 12 of "The Greenspan Effect": "In 1996, critics of Greenspan were an endangered species. A survey conducted in March by Fortune magazine showed 21% of the 204 top CEO's polled considered Greenspan to be more important to the economy than the President, and another 19% deemed him as important as the President. A staggering 96% supported his reappointment, an approval rating far beyond the waking dreams of any President."
