TP, It is you that has now gone beyond the very definition of stupid. I asked you at least 4 times how Bush could accept that "offer" since it was and is against FLA law. Answer now. How could he accept what Gore could not offer? tp

If it's so easy why have you not shown me one thing your guy has done to SECURE a statewide recount.

He made an offer to Bush who turned him down because it's not his right or objective to secure a recount.

Did he go to the state of Florida?

Did he petition all counties in the state of Florida equally and fairly?

Did he sue in a court of law to get the state of Florida to recount all of its votes?

So name me one thing your guy has done to get the State of Florida to do a statewide recount. Asking someone else to do it for you is not the same.

recount of the entire state

With all due respect, you need to understand that no candidate has the legal authority to cut such a deal. Nobody can legally do that! I don't know what state you live in, but imagine the candidate that you voted against came out after the legal time limit had passed for a full state recount and "made an offer" to the other candidate to have a full state recount. Not only is it against the law, but any Florida voter that did not vote for Gore might consider that his rights under the Constitution would be violated if such an illegal recount were to actually take place. The party affiliation doesn't matter, you would not want your guy to get into some kind of a deal that was against the law, right? Some guy from some other state is trying to cut a deal with another guy from out of state for the voters in the state. It's just goofy.

You may have noticed that when Mr. Gore spoke about his most recent "7 day recount" proposal, he mentioned that he had "proposed to the court" what his idea was. He did not say that the other times he mentioned this state wide recount thing. One of his attorneys mentioned to him that he was on extremely thin ice, so he rephrased his proposal.

Even if he "presented [it] to the court", instead of hyping it directly to Mr. Bush on national television, like he did the first time, it's still illegal under Florida law. To put it in more palatable form for you, Florida state law would have to change before his recount occurred, and that presumes that a majority of voters in the state would go for it...a presumption that cannot possibly be predicted by anyone.

Tell me you understand this, please.
