RE: That is all we ask COUNT THE FRIGGIN VOTES!!!

By what standards will you count a vote? Who will set the standards? Who will determine the difference between a scratch, a dimple, and a pregnant chad? Who will be the one to count those votes where the voter chose not to vote for a president? Herein lies the problem. Gore wants a recount, but he wants to dictate the terms by which a vote will count. It sounds fine on the surface, but he is challenging GW to play poker with a known deck of stacked cards. What idiot would agree to that?

Mind you that neither Gore, nor Bush, nor popular opinion matter. Nor does it matter that the outcome seems fair. What matters is that the count follows the rule of Florida and US law. There has to be some rules governing elections lest they become poll-driven screaming matches. Besides, In every election, there are a number of votes that are uncountable. This same fiasco could be played in every state that was a statistical tie, and the results would be the same. If Bush had won Ia, Nm, Or, ir Wi, Gore would be playing the same game there.

I am aware that had Bush lost, then perhaps the Repubs would be playing the same game that Al Gore is. I can say that had the situation been reversed, I do not think that I would support Bush were he doing what AG is currently doing.
