Dear Whiteboy: I too share your concerns. I watched the entire proceeding yesterday in Leon County. Its obvious to me this Judge does not have a strong foundation in election law. I think it is VERY DANGEROUS to seperate a small number of the ballots from the rest of them and have them shipped up to Tallahassee. The state elections office attorney tried to explain to the judge what the law of Florida states regarding recounting ballots but he went ahead with his plans anyhow. This worries me. Its very clear to me at least that Gores attorney is just throwing as much mud up on the wall as he can hoping some of it sticks and he can through some error of the courts eke out a few hundred votes for Gore,declare victory and run to the white house. In my mind the US SUPREME COURT must take a stand here and stop all this nonesense by stating the Fla. Supreme Court usurped their authority and tossing everything out. I was surprised to learn last night that the AVERAGE contested election lasts 17 MONTHS. So to expect something as significant as this to end in a few days is PREPOSTOROUS. JDN
