I do not understand these ridiculous characterizations. Walker and Bush did business with the Harriman's. How is that "riding coattails"? In the same way, people have expressed concern that Bush was given a high equity stake in the Rangers because of his connections. So what? If he had not been able to get more investors in the East, the deal would not have gone through, and so he was rewarded for facilitating the deal. People have acted as if Bush were the Lord Fauntleroy in this equation when Gore is the truly pampered one, living in the Fairfax Hotel, going to St. Albans all through school, getting into Harvard despite mediocre grades, rotating out of Vietnam early after a princeling's tour of duty, and failing repeatedly in graduate school and business until he got into the family business of politics.........
