JIm, maybe you should go hang out with Dick and the money for nothing people. Dick seems to be into the same market up - W good, market down - Gore bad instant analysis. The market does what it does. I don't hear anybody whining about Slade Gorton and that recount that's just beginning. But then, as near as I can tell, Republicans have been contesting every close election they lost for years, and dragging out the appeals for months too. If it goes the other way, it's whinorama time.

How do you justify NAZ 500 bounce in the face of tech's companies hitting the brakes? More likely we're looking at another 500 down even after the election is resolved.

I have just watched it go down. I would not sell here unless you need to for tax loss purposes. If Gore concedes within a short period of time...that's a 200+ Nasdaq gain in hours...500 in a few days...
OTOH, should he continue to drag us in the mud there could be a point where a negative chain reaction is set off and maybe like you said, it takes a while...
Should the economy slow, however, AG has some room to ease...and that will help the market...

Jim,

For all the rhetoric, I don't think the problems with the Naz have a lot to do with the elections. The Naz has been humbled by slowing earnings...did you see that the GDP growth was cut in half for the latest quarter?

I continue to sell on rallies, trying to minimize losses as much as possible. I am also moving into stocks that continue to show some growth for various reasons. I just saw that since March you would have been better off investing in bonds rather than equities.....that's ugly.

Like Rob S has said in the past, the only way to make $$$ in this market is to trade it. I think he is right.
