Morning all,
Shorting companies here into earnings seems to be one of the most consistent sure things that has come around in years. However, election jitters will be coming to an end soon and the more you here the words recession the more ammunition either man will have for a rate cut. I anticipate .25 by early next year, just enough to stimulate the economy and the markets. I met up with a big Canadian fund manager and he is now (as of last week) buying heavy into quality names with earnings. NT is his biggest tech holding now. Yes he noted we are still in a tech bear market but feels a bottom is near.
BRCM just picked up their 12th investment in a row (VisionTech-an Israeli company). They have some great management and they are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing, ie take advantage of their stock price through acquisitions while keeping dilution of earnings to a minimum. They have some nifty solutions in the transmission of broadband digital content and I rate them a buy at these levels. The entire chip set is ready for a bounce and you don't have to look far to find value there. I like Tonys old favorite PMCS here.
Good luck all and do take advantage of this free offer by Tony, you will not regret a minute of it...
Trade smart,
Sharck
