To the thread

As a followup to yesterdays discussion,I ran across this extensive swap file info this am. IMO, some very well written explanations.

hey tc

i'll be interested in hearing how setting up the new pc with your friend goes. is it coming preloaded with winme? any events and experiences you'd like to share afterwards are appreciated.

one time i was helping a friend with the set up of a new dell, and the darn thing wouldn't work out of the box. this friend was the type who really needed any assistance anyone could provide. i was unfamiliar with how to open the case on this model (she did it), and then i called dell tech support with the box open. while talking to the tech, she was rooting around inside the case (i told her to be careful what she touched because of static electricity, etc). all at once she asks, "could this be it?" and she is holding a disconnected wire that was meant to go to the start button. i told the tech what she had found and he was like, "that should fix you right up".

all of a sudden i felt not-so-important that day!

:)
