ADC has been consistent about its forward looking earnings, essentially unchanged until a dilution was seen from a acquisition. It is a large and very strategic acquisition: Broadband Access Systems

"The purchase is expected to reduce ADC's fiscal fourth-quarter earnings by 2 cents per share if it closes by the end of next month; by 7 cents to 8 cents a share for the full fiscal year, which ends Oct. 31; and by 5 cents to 6 cents in 2001. Broadband Access will begin adding to earnings in 2002."
