Agreed. I have been playing around with tech companies (ALSC, CEGE, TRID, XIRC, VCLK...) with high cash + stock and have done not too badly this down year. These stocks tend to fall less sharply(then industry peers) when markets fall but rises pretty quickly when market rebounds as investors still look out for more value. They might only match or somewhat lag the industry peers when the industry is growing gangbuster since they hold onto so much equity instead of putting all of it to work.
