With the likelihood increased that Governor Bush will become President Bush, the market picked up where it left off on Friday's holiday-shortened session. Unfortunately, the enthusiasm was short-lived and the hopes for a rollicking year-end rally were dashed once more.

Is that all there is to the relief rally so many had thought would kick off the Santa Claus rally? It's too soon to tell, but it looks as if another oversold bounce may be all that's in store for investors heading into the new millennium.
