Morning VIewpoints: Visit the CNET Brokerage Center <http://www.cnetinvestor.com/reports/brokercenter.asp> for daily reports from the top Wall Street analysts. BROADVISION, INC. (BVSN) STRONG BUY Customer Concerns are Overdone; Reiterate Strong Buy ♦ BroadVision suffered a disproportionate blow relative to the rest of the market yesterday with the stock retreating 20% in the wake of a re-release that Philips Electronics is standardizing on the Art Technology platform. Philips was initially announced as an Art Technology customer in conjunction with Arts third quarter earnings results. The concern is that Philips is also a historical BroadVision customer and that Philips may replace BroadVision application with the Art Technology platform. We do not believe that this is the case and BroadVision, once again, appears to be oversold on concerns that the technology is inferior and is meeting with significant frustration from existing customers. ♦ It appears that the products from the two companies are being used in separate divisions within Philips. Art Technology has announced the consumer electronics division and domestic appliances while BroadVision boasts Philips USA, Philips PC Peripherals and a corporate intranet application. It appears to us that Philips USA will continue to use the BroadVision platform and that the Art Technology platform will be used in other capacities.
