US DVD player sales, up 95.6%, in the latest week.......... dvdinsider.com Vital Statistics Part II - 11/29/2000 We received the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) statistics shortly after the publication was sent out yesterday and here they are. For the week ending Nov. 17, 2000, DVD player unit sales to dealers were 219,217, up 95.6 percent over sales this week in 1999, and up from last week’s sales of 171,019! Month-to-date sales are 605,309, up 118.1 percent over November 1999 sales, and year-to-date sales are 6,934,256, up 113.1 percent over 1999! VCR deck sales for the week were 881,858, up 11.5 percent compared with this week in 1999 sales. Month-to-date sales are 1,915,384, up 20.2 percent over November 1999 sales, and year-to-date sales are 20,920,368, up a mere 5.5 percent over 1999 sales.
