I think Sharp is the big-volume champ right now and smaller players are scrambling to jump-start their color-display projects. Japan's ravenous domestic demand is apparently vacuuming nearly all of Sharp's production right now; this is going to be a real issue in the 2001 Xmas market in Europe and USA.

This shortage may go a long way towards deciding which phone vendors can grab high-end share in Western markets. So the whole "Phone Glut!!" panic is a little premature. Let's see how big a glut there is in color models next autumn.

No hissy fits, slacker - I'll buy you a bottle of Finlandia when I visit the States next time. You need to renegotiate contractual obligations in advance in the future.
