Hey! It looks like somebody discovered the bargain basement Cyrix 300 MII's I mentioned in Message 14896011. (I think AKA IBM/CYRIX 6x86 MX PR300 233 MHz). Unimpressive FP, but if I recall correctly it was actually pretty darn fast otherwise. How long can the P233MMX hold #7 when cheaper and faster chips can be had?:-)

Cheers, Dan.

"With these numbers, how can AMD's share price drop so low???"

No buyers...They're waiting for $40 before they jump in...You know, market risk confirmation!!!
Actually, we should see some buying materialize now that AMD is testing its recent October low...Who'd have thunk it??? I guess that's what the tech bear is all about...

By the way, those numbers look too good to me...Don't have any loose cash available or I'd be buying some more AMD right now...

"General top 10 bestseller list of November 29 of K&M Elektronik:"

Just looked over Decmber's PC Advisor magazine from the UK...Categorizes computers as Power (1 gig and up), Bargain (850 Mhz to 1 gig) and SuperBargain (under 850 MHz) (Hi,Med,Lo ends)...In each category there are included more Athlons than P3's...Particularly noticeable were the 10 of 14 Athy inclusions in the Power (1 gig and up) category listing (One year ago, AMD had 0 inclusions in this category listing)...Bodes exceedingly well for the future especially as it appears that the 1.2 gig Athy/DDR, soon to be readily available at retail will be standalone (i.e without a competitor)...Businesses demanding leading edge performance will have to choose the Athy/DDR combo...

Interestingly, as the transition from P3 to Athy in the PC space continues, AMD seems, for the time being, to be withdrawing from the mobile space, which hopefully, for INTC shareholders, will buffer in the short term (i.e until the arrival of the mobile Athy) the overall declining fortunes associated with the fast aging P3 architecture...

Whether or not, stable or firming mobile and server margins can stem INTC's eroding PC margins remains to be seen but I suspect we'll find out over the next 2 weeks, before INTC enters a 1 month quiet period on Dec. 16...Given the P4 bellyflop and INTC's inability to get P3 beyond 1 gig, I definitely am not ruling out the likelihood of an INTC warning once again this quarter...
