Ten,

We already heard arguments from Elmer suggesting that AMD's yields are poor.

If Elmer said something bad about AMD, it must be true.

"The opening of Fab 30 is a major milestone on our journey toward our goal of capturing a 30% unit share of the semiconductor industry's largest market segment, PC processors," asserted W.J. (Jerry) Sanders III, chairman and chief executive officer of AMD. Sanders said yields and speed-grade distributions in the Dresden fab are matching or exceeding those in AMD's Fab 25 in Austin, tex., which is producing Athlon processors with 0.18-micron aluminum interconnect technology.

AMD is also pretty cagey about yields, but a little less to than Intel.
