The manipulation(good or bad matter not, I will not even argue the point with you) hasn't ended, though, When it looks as though the White House will go one way so does gold, when the other side makes a few points, gold loses the same few points. for whatever it is worth, part of the market is reading gold in the same way I did, that GWB would be better for a more free & open gold market - though I can also see the truth in your "ultimate collapse under Gore" theory. BUT, the failed "gold rally" may have just been another end of contract period volatile patch as Hutch so wisely pointed out to us so long ago.
