Friday would be mighty cavalier...

The only way the United States Supreme Court could settle things on Friday or any time soon would be to rule that the Florida Legislature is the one to determine the rules of the game, not the Florida Supreme Court, and kick it over to the Florida Legislature. I don't want to give any odds on that possibility.

Otherwise, the only thing that I see is before the Court is whether the manual recount deadline should have been extended.

I fully expect to be surprised by whatever the United States Supreme Court does. So far, I've been surprised by everything else.

For what it's worth, I still expect that when it's all over, Dubya will be president.
