<<Let's not forget that the most convenient time to engineer a recession is at the beginning of a new president's term>> just ask Bush's dad. he got handed one, and moved out of it just in time for Clinton. this time, however, Gore provided the backlash to continue the fall selloff in the markets (in a big way) BEFORE Bush enters the office. that might give the fed enough room (with much of the wealth effect erased,recent evidence of economic slowdown and likely further evidence next week) to lower rates in december. let's just hope the final presidential election is out of the way prior the fed's meeting
