JohnD, this is not only an earnings slowdown for GTW, but revenue slowdown also. This affects every PC company...

I think MSFT will surely be hit but if we see the market anticipate some sort of price cutting by the boxmakers, that could be a catalyst for MSFT.

In addition, companies like MSFT and INTEL are not the same, very high PE stocks. I read that even value funds are buying them.

How much of an indicator is Gateway for the entire PC market? They primarily sell to consumers in the US market. Is there a chance that competitors like Compaq, Hewlett are in a better position than they have been in the past. Maybe not everyone wants to buy from the Gateway Store anymore. The regular retail channel may be OK; business market maybe strong as well.

We certainly will have more uncertainty. Could get our morning SWOOOOOOSH!!!....followed by a rebound. Hopefully, we get our bottom in this market.
