I don't think the Judge is a buffoon at all. However, David Boies seems to, given the antic he tried pulling today. I think today's theatre was supposed to be uncontested procedural matters. Richards was there, but apparently wasn't needed on a contested matter. Only near the end, at Boies's proposed order shenanigan, was anything really contested. I was a little surprised by how tolerant the Judge was of Boies's end-of-the-day attempt to do an end-run to the Florida Supremes.

CNN now reporting that Boies is filing an appeal to the Florida Supremes anyway, saying Sauls erred in his scheduling order and ought to order a re-count immediately. They want a fleet of police cars screaming to Tallahassee tonight with ballots in tow.
