<Tahnk you. Ish's verbal diagram of the parts of a votematic machine (correct me if I misstate your position):

1. 10x10x1 box
2. booklet with the candidates listed
3. center panel full of holes next to each candidate
4. stylus
5. ballot >

Let's not forget the all important one:

6. gore lost

6. Instructions that go unread by idiotic, brain-dead, alleged Gore voters

(Is the last part redundant? Maybe I should just say "Gore voters".)

1. I'm guessing at the size, never knew I'd be quizzed so I never measured one.
2. The booklet isn't bound. It's actually several separate pages on a heavy bar frame. Each page leaves a hole wide gap between it and the next page. Each page lists race, ie, president, next page Senate, next page HR, next page retaining judges.....
3. The center of the votomatic has holes corresponding to the chads. That's the top of the plastic box. Reason being if it was just a gap there would be nothing to support the ballot when being punched.
4. stylus- Plastic with a 1/2" metal punch. Fixed with a 2' bead chain so lawyers don't steal them. Yes, the chain is long enough to reach all the holes.
5. ballot - About 1' long and folds in half length wise. 1/2 plain and 1/2 with chads. You fold the ballot in half AFTER CHECKING IT FOR MISTAKES and hand it to the judge plain side up. You stand and watch the judge place your ballot in the box.

Pretty simple.
