The Gateway warning is based on one weekend of poor sales. How about some bright talk about laptops and PDAs. Need some reassurance from some big company now.

It seems like the sky has already fallen, has been for months.

These things tend to feed on themselves--nasdaq crashes, squeezes the economy, nasdaq companies get less sales to consumers...

But I do wonder why Compaq isn't verbalizing more about the PDA factor, and by golly...laptops.

WS is insane. CPQ only traded as low as 18 1/4 when the company had no earnings, no CEO, no direction, and seemingly, no future. Now the company has all of these things and the stock trades at 19. After trading as high as 35 recently, the stock gets knocked 5 ways from Sunday on news that some other company is struggling. So far nothing has changed at CPq since the stock was 35. This is LUNACY! With no warning, and none is expected(Q4 is "blessed"), this is a 40 dollar stock. Capellas has kept his promise and stayed in touch by twice in the last few weeks coming to the defense of the shares and shareholders with positive current and forward-looking statements. WS is either just plain crazy or crazy like a fox by playing CPQ shares like a violin. El
