Bill, So many earnings estimates are coming down; I just hope some companies don't wait too long to guide lower. This is the ideal week to get the warnings out of the way. Even if this quarter is going to be fine, why not just cut estimates for the entire 2001 year, just like Gateway? I just hope some of these CFOs and CEO realize that they are given an opportunity to warn and not lose too much in their stock price...because they are going to get hit either way!!!
C'mon take advantage of it!

If feels like October 1998; maybe even fall/winter of 1997 when the Asian crisis were ongoing. What we are now getting is something very similiar. The finanical world is coming to end just like back then; the argument was that with the world ecomonies so bad (and weak currencies), are are they going to afford US high tech products.
Now we have less people talking about Nasdaq bottoming than we did a few weeks ago; many are thinking that we could go lower to below 2000.
I remember many people just saying get out of the way.

Another comparison is AMAT's earnings. Same sort of report as we saw back then...with a cloudy forecast.
Guess what happened, things changed; and the markets rebounded very quickly.

Now I am just wondering which currencies are going to get weak---US, Europe, Asia.
