By the book they were telling the truth - the problem will show up in 2001 not 2000.

But that will not keep the lawyers off there tail.

GTW: same BS that TSTN pulled. And here's info about the upgrades/downgrades.... not really new:

1) In a bear mkt, an upgrade or a downgrade is the broker wanting to sell.

2) Track the up & downgrades on a few of them... sometimes you see the same stock upped & downed 3-4 times a month now. Not a one can be trusted.

3)Downgrading a beat-up stock is often a signal of a squeeze about to happen.

4) Ratings create trades, which begat transaction fees. Brokers are hurting on the UW revenues so are issuing more ratings to fatten their fee revenues.

5) Second week of December: brokers will be issuing earnings warnings on their selves.
