yep, i also found this commentary particularly pertinent...indeed, since the dollar has become the main export article of the US, we're seeing a sort of international hi-finance pyramid game being played, in which the creditor is the one who now has the problem.

of course, no matter what bed-time stories Uncle Sam tells the rest of the world,replete with vivid imagery of a complete systemic collapse, the pyramid game will end, as all pyramid games do.

Gateway says comfortable with Q4 estimates
SAN DIEGO, Nov. 20 (Reuters) - Personal computer provider Gateway Inc. (NYSE:GTW - news) on Monday said that based on current growth trends it is comfortable with analysts' consensus estimates for earnings and revenue for the fourth quarter and full year 2000.

In a statement, the company said it is confident that its PC sales and non-PC product and service revenues ``are ramping at expected levels.''

Financial analysts expect the company to earn $0.62 per share in the fourth quarter, according to financial research firm First Call/Thomson Financial.
