Dear Ted Downs: The problem with these internet polls is that they are basically polls of educated people who are likely "givers" to the system. This election is between givers and takers. The Democrat party has determined that their are enough takers now that they can PROMISE them the moon if they are elected and these takers can overwhelm the givers. To back up my comment just look at the National Map of where Gore got his votes. It nearly all came from large cities. The inner city crowd voted enmass for him along with typical Democrats. Outside these cities EVEN IN THE STATES HE WON the overwhelming majority voted for Bush. If GORE is successful in stealing this election I shrudder to think of the promises he has made and will have to keep to the takers. He and the rest of his party know very well that if they dont fulfill the promises they all will be swept out of office next time around. People say not to worry as Dems dont control Congress. I believe that is wrong. Gore will merely veto any bill he doesnt like and the Rep. do not have the votes to override. JDN
