He was hated by the left every bit as much as Nixon and Johnson, and just as much as the right hates Clintscum. One nice March day long ago I was in our county Courthouse to buy a hunting license. As I passed the door to the Social Services offices, a young social worker came running out, obviously very excited. He says to me, "Did you hear? Reagan has been shot!!!" I replied, "No, I didn't hear. Is he dead?" To which the young Lefty made a face of extreme disappointment, snapped his fingers hard, the way people do when something just missed, and answered my question with unexplainable viciousness, in a hissing voice, "No, not yet, Damn it!!!!"
